Carey is recognised as one of Australia's leading co-educational schools, with Year 12 results that consistently place the school among the top ten schools in the State. In 2006, 100% of students seeking tertiary places received offers.
Carey students study the Victorian Certificate of Education course or the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the School is known for the broad range of subjects it offers and the preparation it provides for university study. An exceptionally wide choice of activities is available to students outside of classes - from sport and music through to drama and art production.

| Accommodation |
Carey requires all overseas students to live in accommodation approved by the School. Homestay provides safe, family focused accommodation. The School's homestay co-ordinator will assist with finding suitable accommodation and will ensure both student and homestay host are happy with the arrangement. Homestay costs are between AUD$250 and AUD$300 per week, which includes three meals per day. Carey students are not permitted to live alone or with other students.
